Kemp Family Christmas: step by step Magic Trick
At the Kemp house there is a tradition to open Christmas Crackers after dinner. It’s a British tradition I think.
They are basically big foil wrappers (that look like giant tootsie rolls). One person grabs each end and they pull and the cracker makes an underwhelming pop. But each cracker contains treasures.
And by treasures I mean, a paper crown (unfold and wear!), a piece of paper with some pun-tastic jokes (Q: Why did the cobra have so many friends? A: He had poisonality!), some trivia (Q: How many tentacles does a squid have? A: 10), and a prize. These range from tiny crayons, to a tiny car, to a tiny ring toss game. Basically something tiny and generally plastic.
My sister-in-law Liz got a magic trick this year. The classic 3 cups, one ball trick. In these photos (that she generously allowed me to take) she is wearing her paper crown while excitedly moving the cups around. She then reveals the tiny sponge.
So how do you make the tiny piece of sponge disappear from the cup?
According to the instructions: “Whilst moving the cups say a magic word and secretly remove the Sponge.”
It’s so easy! Just secretly remove it!
